Letter From the Owner

Heraclitus said “The Only Thing That Is Constant Is Change – “.  For six years, we have operated as the only full service, independently owned motorcycle dealership in Manhattan.  This has proven to be very difficult.  Lately, external forces have created excessive burdens on us, our landlord has exercised a clause in our lease to take back our apparel boutique that we were all so fond of.  In addition, our “partner” Dainese, opened a corporately owned store directly across the street from our location.  Alas, we are all aware that the retail environment is changing, the traditional ways in which we purchase goods and services have evolved.

As we head into the fall/winter, we were faced with a very tough decision, if we continued to operate in the same fashion as we always have, we would surely fail and the decision to close our dealership would be made for us and not by us.  We instead, have decided to make a bold move.  We understand that in order to create a successful retail buying experience that it must actually be an “experience”.  We cannot do this alone and we cannot do this without singular focus.  This Fall, we will re-launch our store and will become DUCATI NEW YORK.  To do this, we are going to shed our Triumph brand as well as many of our other sub-brands to solely focus on Ducati.  With the Ducati Brand, we have a true “lifestyle” brand and a partner that understands fully the entirety of the motorcycle experience.

We love Triumph Motorcycles and we were always thoughtful with the brands and the products that we have featured.  As motorcycle enthusiasts, we love the sport in its entirety but as a business, we must adapt to the changing environment we are in.

On October 1, 2017, we ceased being an official Triumph Dealership.  While, we will not be able to conduct warranty service for Triumph going forward, we will still remain available to our customers for routine maintenance and modifications.  The idea that we would orphan our customers is painful, unfortunately, each manufacturer has standards and requirements that will not allow us to remain as a dealer and achieve the vision that we see for our future success.

As our dealership evolves, we will be sure to keep you informed.
